Temperatures can reach over 110 degrees Fahrenheit between March and June, while heavy rains are prevalent during the monsoon season, which runs from July through October.
Hyderabad and Secunderabad were originally twin cities, separated by Hussain Sagar Lake on opposite sides. Today, the two have combined into a single, sprawling municipal territory that envelops the lake. How to Get to Hyderabad
Plane
The city is roughly 14 miles from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (HYD). Because the airport is new, you can expect modern amenities and facilities. The airport has air-conditioned buses that go to various locations throughout the city, with tickets ranging from $150 to $250. Only Skycabs and Meru provide official taxi service at the airport, with metered rates starting at 21 for every 0.62 miles or so.
Train
Nampally station, located in the Nampally area, is the city’s principal railway station. It is an important railway hub in India, with connections to cities all around the nation.
Taxi
A freshly renovated highway system connects the city to other important cities. The city is connected to Bangalore by the NH7 highway, and to Chennai by the NH9 and NH5 highways. The NH9 can also be used to get to and from Mumbai. You can also book taxi service in Hyderabad for traveling to other cities.
Bus
Dhanunjaya Bus, Veeru Travels, NTA Express, and the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation are among the private and state bus operators that run intercity routes (TSRTC). The Jubilee Bus Station in Secunderabad serves many intercity routes. Connections are available to Chennai, Mumbai, and Bangalore.
Where to Stay in Hyderabad
You’ll be staying in palatial splendor at the Taj Falaknuma Palaca. The five-star hotel was originally a true palace, with Italian statues and a 100-seat dining table among its numerous treasures. The Taj Krishna and Taj Banjara are just two of the city’s many modern hotels, each with its own unique style and expensive services. The Raj Classic Inn is clean and reasonably priced, plus it’s close to the bus station.
Hyderabad’s Hot Spots
The Central Zone is an upmarket area of the city with a wide range of dining and nightlife options. Many of the city’s high-end retail malls, including Hyderabad Central and the ultramodern Inorbit Mall, are located here.
The majority of the city’s great historic features are located along the south bank of the Musi River in the South Zone. It’s also known as the Old City, and it’s where you’ll find some of Hyderabad’s best traditional markets, such as the Laad Bazaar, which is known for bangles, semi-precious gemstones, and pearl jewellery; the Moazzam Jahi Market, which has fresh fruit and beautiful flowers; and the Sultan Bazaar (also known as Sultan Bazar), which has great fashion bargains.
The North Zone includes Secunderabad, a sister city that has been absorbed by the expanding metropolis. It boasts its own excellent restaurant and entertainment scene that was developed immediately under British administration until 1948.
Getting Around Hyderabad
Bus
TSRTC, a state-owned corporation, operates a reliable local bus service that covers the majority of the huge metropolis. Zone fares begin at 35 and go up from there. A monthly pass costs 2,100 and provides unlimited travel across the city for longer visits.
Taxi
In Hyderabad, taxis abound, but you’ll want to make sure you get a metered taxi. The starting fare cab be checked at Bharat Taxi website. Within the city, auto-rickshaws are a viable option to taxis, and you’ll find many of them around large hotels and in the financial sector.
Due to the lack of an expressway system or route in Hyderabad, traffic congestion is a common occurrence. Parking is also scarce, and in many areas of town, it is often impossible to get a spot. Carzonrent and Hyderabad Car Rentals are two local companies. You’ll need to book ahead of time because supply is limited.
