Golf courses in Florida are reopening but chances are, the course’s operations are significantly different. Here’s how to prepare.
We’re into early May and businesses are reopening across the United States as state and local governments relax COVID-19 restrictions. At one point, 15 states had outright banned the playing of golf, while other cities and counties instituted their local restrictions and bans.
How do I book and pay?
Golf courses have changed the way they schedule tee times and receive payments. They want as little money transferred in person as possible to protect their staff. As a result, many golf courses now require advanced tee time bookings, with an increasing number now requiring payment in advance.
If you’re used to paying for green fees with cash, it’s possible that you won’t be able to do so at this time.
Do I need to wear a face-covering?
For the time being, certain locations, including Riverside County in California and Miami-Dade County in Florida, are asking golfers to wear a cloth face mask for the full round. In certain states and towns, they are required to be worn in public areas and on practice greens.
It is critical to recognize that businesses have the right to establish regulations that they believe will keep their employees safe, and it is the responsibility of customers to follow such standards. To be safe, I’ve started placing bandanas in various places in my car and around the house.
Is there on-course water available?
As the weather warms up in the south, many golf courses have removed their water stations from the course as a safety measure. Higher-end or private courses may provide water bottles, whereas munis may tell you to bring your own. Confirm the availability of water and, if necessary, bring a large jug with you.
Bunker rakes and ball washers are among typical tools that are being kept off the course for the time being.
What are the food & beverage options?
A significant number of golf courses across the United States have closed clubhouses and restaurants to comply with state social distance regulations. Obligations are now being reduced in various states, but that doesn’t mean that your local golf course has reopened its restaurant. If you’re used to getting a hot dog on the turn, double-check to make sure it’s available, and if not, put your food in a bag. The drink cart may not be there now. Please check the status on arrival.
Is the driving range open?
Many greens have concluded that driving reaches unite golf players excessively close, so they have shut theirs until further notice. Others have closed off every slow down to advance social removing. You may likewise see practice greens have taken out their cups or flagsticks.
How can I help?
Now it is not a time to say that it is a ranger and a professional shop employee. Please return to your home course or try again. Most golfers seem to have deep gratitude. At Golf Advisor, the Star evaluation of the average check noticed that it was a half evaluation of the points after the Patcham cam compared to the same interval last year. Many of our reviewers thanked deep happiness that they could escape from the real world with some fairways for a while.
Golf courses should be eye-friendly to support the original employee or to get the company. There is considerable uncertainty about how unpaid invoices will be processed later this year.
But most importantly, when we are all in the facility, we can be cheerleaders of the rules of the facility. Being on the golf course may seem like a strange time, but I hope it will be a short moment in our golf life that we all look forward to.
